Elmira Ashram & Temple

About Us

A Spiritual Home In the Heart of the Finger Lakes

Nestled in the quiet town of West Elmira, New York, the Elmira Ashram and Temple is a spiritual hub for seekers across America. The ashram is home to monastics and community members living a life in service to the Divine. Offering daily prayers, lively spiritual discussion, dynamic devotional music, and space to learn or deepen the spiritual aspects of your yoga and meditation practice, the ashram is an oasis of spiritual nourishment amidst the landscape of our often busy lives. Come for a day, or for an extended seva stay. The space is open to group retreats, as well as individuals who would like to come experience ashram life, and deepen their spiritual practice & relationship with the Divine.

The ashram is the focal point of the Bhakti Marga America (a 501C3 non-profit) founded by Paramahamsa Vishwananda, an enlightened Master whos mission is to ‘open the hearts of man’.

Plan a Retreat

The ashram is open to groups seeking a sacred space to hold your own yoga or meditation retreat. We also offer customized retreats with the monks for those seeking an immersion into ashram life and the path of devotion. Plant based meals are included as apart of the group rate.

Darshan Blessing with an Enlightened Master

You’re invited to a special In-Person Darshan with Paramahamsa Vishwananda at our Elmira Temple!

Darshan is a personal blessing of pure, unconditional Love that awakens the Love within. Meeting and receiving Darshan from a God-Realized Master is an incredibly rare opportunity.

It has been 6 years since Guruji has visited America! With Covid restrictions, it has made the opportunity to receive in-person Darshan even more precious.

We hope you can make it for this incredible event!
