Adopt a Shaligram
A rare and sacred opportunity to symbolically "adopt" a shaligram at the
Paranitya Narasimha Temple in Elmira, NY.
What is a Shaligram?
A shaligram is a self-manifested (swayambhu) form of Maha Vishnu — naturally found in the sacred Gandaki River in Nepal. Unlike consecrated murtis, shaligrams are not carved or created by human hands. They are eternal, living forms of the Divine, worshiped for thousands of years in the Vedic tradition.
To worship a shaligram is to worship Maha Vishnu Himself. The scriptures describe shaligrams as fully awakened, conscious forms of God, carrying immense spiritual presence and protective grace. Even a single shaligram in a home or temple sanctifies the space and elevates all who come into contact with it.
A Rare Opportunity
To care for a temple shaligram is a rare and extraordinary blessing. Traditionally, such worship is entrusted only to dedicated practitioners, as it requires purity, discipline, and daily devotion.
By the wish and guidance of our Satguru, Paramahamsa Vishwananda, over 3,000 sacred shaligrams are being lovingly worshiped every day at the Paranitya Narasimha Temple in Elmira, NY — one of the largest shaligram temples in the world.
By Adopting a shaligram, you have the sacred opportunity to support Their daily worship — the prayers, abhishekam, offerings, and seva performed on Their behalf — and receive the grace of that living connection.
