Kumkum | Red Stick

Kumkum | Red Stick

$1.00

Every tilak applied is a quiet declaration — I belong to the Divine.

The Red Namakatti is one of the oldest and most beloved tools in Vaishnava devotional life. Crafted from traditional materials using time-honored preparation methods, it is used to draw the Srichurnam — the sacred red marking at the center of the Naamam that honors Goddess Lakshmi. Where the white Namakatti forms the two vertical lines representing Lord Vishnu, this red stick fills the center mark, applied just as you would red kumkum or powder. Together, the complete Naamam becomes a living symbol of the Divine Couple's presence on the path.

Applying the Srichurnam each day before puja is believed to invoke the grace and blessings of Sri Lakshmi, and to mark the devotee as belonging to Her. These sticks are equally suited for personal tilak, temple service, and adorning beloved deity idols at your home altar.
