A fuller, longer tulsi mala for those who want the sacred wood to sit substantially in the hand — each bead shaped by hand, no two quite alike.


This japa mala is handcrafted in India from authentic tulsi (Holy Basil) wood, the plant honored in the Vaishnava tradition as most beloved of Lord Krishna. Its 108 rough-cut beads carry the natural character of the wood and are graduated in size — from about 3/8" in diameter and 1/2" in length up to 5/8" by 3/4" — so your fingers always know where they are in the round. Every bead is individually hand-knotted on strong cotton thread and finished with an orange tassel.


Tulsi is revered as deeply purifying, drawing the heart nearer to the Divine with every repetition. Out of love and respect for Tulsi Devi, this mala is reserved for practitioners who maintain a vegetarian lifestyle.
