WHO IS PARAMAHAMSA VISHWANANDA?

Paramahamsa Vishwananda is a revolutionary Satguru of our time. Beautifully unifying the devotional traditions of India, He goes beyond dogma to religion’s real purpose: knowledge of who we truly are and our relationship to the Divine within.

He is celebrated for his unifying approach that transcends divisions, offering a twin path of outer and inner Bhakti, or devotion. He is a Kriya Master, reviving Atma Kriya Yoga, as well as the founder of the Hari Bhakta Sampradaya, which honors various Bhakti traditions from the heart of India.

His mission is to open the hearts of humanity.

THE TEMPLE DEITIES

ABOUT RUKMINI PANDURANGA

When Krishna went to find His wife, Rukmini (an incarnation of Maha Lakshmi) after She left Dwarka, He took the form of Panduranga Vitthala.

When they reunited, the Divine couple decided to visit a devotee named Pundalik: a former sinner turned saint. Once abusive, Pundalik became totally devoted to his parents after a life-changing realization.

His devotion was so focused that he told the Lord to wait while he finished serving his parents. He even threw a brick out the door for the Lord to stand on.

The brick represents devotion, bhakti, fully-absorbed, single-pointed love and service to the Divine, which goes far beyond external acts of worship.

When bhakti awakens inside of ourselves, it helps us grow ever closer to the Lord.  Panduranga is shown keeping His arms over the waist, shows His readiness to take His devotees across the ocean of death and rebirth.

CONNECT TO THE SAINTS

The auspicious pilgrimage place of Pandharpur, in the state of Maharashtra, India is a most sacred shrine of  Lord Panduranga and Mata Rukmini Devi. Saints like Sant Jnaneshwar, Sant Namadev, Sant Tukaram, Sant Ekanath, and many more had taken birth in and around this place during the 13th century.

All these great saints spread the movement of not only Bhakti but also equality in human beings irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

The Long Beach Rukmini Panduranga temple will feature 18 of the most relevant Maharashtran Saints in beautiful ornate wood carvings honoring an era of rare and infinitely blissful souls who shared a deep and humble dependence of the form aspect of God as Vitthala Panduranga.
